The purpose of this investigation was to fulfill the requirements for a master's degree in aquatic food production at the Faculty of Science and Technology at Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU). The funding for the experiment and subsequent analyses was provided by Aller Aqua Norway AS. The study was carried out over two academic semesters and was assigned a credit value of 60 ECTS. To begin, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to my adviser, professor Turid Mørkøre, for all of the great assistance, guidance, and inspiration she provided me while I was working on my thesis. My educational experience has been much enhanced by the individual's expertise as well as their capacity for providing constructive criticism and patience. This has been an extremely helpful aspect of my research attempts. I am grateful to her for the advice that she has given me as a mentor and for the expertise that she has passed on to me. In addition, I would also like to thank my friends Julia Formanowicz and Marte Røsvik, for their unwavering support and encouragement throughout my studies. Their friendship and support have been essential to my success. I am also grateful to Aller Aqua Company, for its assistance during my visit to the sea cages at Askvoll for fish sampling. Furthermore, I wish to express my profound love, and gratitude to my son, Barbod, who wholeheartedly believes in the power of knowledge and science. Throughout my years of study, he has shown cooperation, patience, and kindness, which have been instrumental in my academic journey. Last but not least, I extend my deepest appreciation to my partner, Thomas. His unwavering support, both emotionally and intellectually, has been my anchor during challenging times. His uplifting words and belief in my capabilities have propelled me forward, filling my academic journey with encouragement and strength.
