This thesis investigates steam processing's role in enhancing the digestibility, nutritional value, and quality of pet-food kibble. Through a detailed review, it demonstrates that steam processing is a key factor in improving pet food manufacturing, by making nutrients more accessible, preserving nutritional quality, and ensuring product safety. However, the analysis calls for precise control over the steam processing conditions to fully realize these benefits and highlights the need for more research into its long-term effects on pet health and nutrient bioavailability. The findings lay a foundation for further advancements in pet food technology and provide insights for manufacturers, pet owners, and nutritionists aiming to improve pet food quality. Keywords: pet, kibble, extrusion, steam processing, digestion, quality, nutrition
