| nb_NO |
dc.description.abstract | In a society with increased focus on efficiency, the developments in agriculture have shifted towards bigger and heavier agricultural machines and equipment. Along with a wetter climate in Norway, challenges related to harvesting have arisen. One of the consequences of using heavier machinery is increased soil compaction. The main issue of soil compaction is that it leads to a reduction in crops from season to season. In places with heavy rainfall, the harvest periods are short, and you cannot operate in the field with heavy machinery due to the wet and moist soil. In collaboration with GrassRobotics, the possibility that the autonomous, lightweight robot Thorvald can replace some of the tractor’s work tasks, will be researched. Thus, reducing the use of heavy agricultural machines.
The main objective of this thesis is to develop an energy-efficient and flexible cutting tool that, together with Thorvald, will be able to cut grass that will be fodder for ruminants. | nb_NO |
