Forskning og forsøk i landbruket : genetisk variasjon i Holt engrapp (Poa pratensis alpigena)
Abstract
150 clones of the Norwegian Holt meadow grass (Poa pratensis alpigena) were tested in order to investigate possible genetic variation. A Danish meadow grass, Norma Øtofte (Poa pratensis eupratensis), was used for comparation. Morphological characters were examined in the field and tested with F-tests. All the examined characters in Norma Øtofte and six out of eight characters in Holt gave significant F-values. 18-19 % atypical clones (included 1,3 % 10 impurities) were found in both Holt and Norma Øtofte. The frequency of Norma Øtofte aberrants was probably too low, because the aberrants were determinated for only four characters. The remaining 81 % of the clones were then retested with F-tests. In Holt as well as Norma Øtofte there was still gentic variation in two characters. It could be concluded that there is genetic variation within Holt meadow grass grown in Troms 1967, and that Holt is more apomictic than Norma Øtofte meadow grass.
