On January 1st 2014, the Norwegian Veterinary College and the University of Life Sciences (NMBU) was combined. This means that the Veterinary College will move from its campus at Adamstuen in Oslo, to newly built veterinary buildings at the NMBU campus in Ås by 2019. This opens the campus at Adamstuen for new use. Statsbygg is todays owner and has been commissioned by the Ministry of Environment and Modernisation to start work on reuse of the property. The campus is centrally located in Oslo, within the number two ring road. With a plot of approximately 5 hectares and 59,000 square metres of existing buildings, the property represents a good potential for development. Nevertheless, the property is very complex with 1/3 of the building stock protected and a variety of building typology and age. The property has a transformation and densification potential, but also a rich cultural heritage. In this thesis, I will investigate the possibilities for further use of the property. The thesis is based in a theoretic framework of what is needed to create a good city, the interaction between protected buildings and new buildings, as well as place analysis of the area. A feasibility study has been conducted and a proposed solution is then presented. The solution proposes a higher utilization rate of the property, which allows for over 1300 residential units. In addition, it allows for a higher throughput of pedestrians, larger urban spaces and buildings that can accommodate jobs and services. The purpose of the solution is to integrate the property into the area, so that a transformation of the property can create more urban activity at Adamstuen.nb_NO
