This study analyses CO2 emissions and emission intensity on 43 oil and gas fields on Norwegian continental shelf for the period 1997-2012. Secondary data on production, emissions, water and reservoir depth, oil prices, emission prices and electrification were collected for the study from Norwegian Environment Agency, Norwegian Petroleum Directorate, Norwegian Ministry of Finance, Statistics Norway and the U.S. Energy Information Administration. The results of panel data analysis support previous studies and show that there is difference between oil and gas fields when it comes to emissions. Gas production tends to have lower emissions. Emission intensity tends to be higher in the initial and decline phases of a field’s lifetime. Emission price seems to have no significant effect on either emissions or emission intensity for the studied period.nb_NO
