Utforming av uteområder ved rehabiliteringssentre

Abstract

Man har de senere år sett en økende interesse for innflytelsen og effekten det fysiske miljøet kan ha på menneskers helse og velvære. Dette har resultert i begrepet helsedesign som kan betraktes som en gren innenfor arkitekturen. Rehabilitering kan nevnes som et felt innenfor helsedesign. Rehabilitering har blitt valgt som fokusområde i oppgaven fordi dette angår mange mennesker og man ser at det stadig blir flere som har behov for rehabilitering. Oppgaven går ut på å undersøke hvordan uteområder ved rehabiliteringssentre bør utformes. Problemstillingen for oppgaven er som følger: Hvordan skape uteområder ved rehabiliteringssentre som kan være et terapeutisk bidrag i behandlingen, og som både de ansatte og brukerne føler eierskap til, som gir mulighet for både trening og rekreasjon og som på samme tid er lett å vedlikeholde? Meotdene som blir brukt for å svare på problemstillingen er litteraturstudie, analyse av eksempler på eksisterende anlegg og casestudie. Når det gjelder litteraturstudien har det blitt sett på relvante teorier og litteratur for oppgaven. I analysedelen vil fire hager/uteområder som vil være av relevans for oppgaven bli sett på og diskutert. I og med at det ikke finnes mye litteratur direkte knyttet opp til tema for oppgaven vil det bli sett på andre typer helseinstitusjoner og hva som kan overføres herfra til uteområder ved rehabiliteringssentre. Casestudien er Catosenteret som er et rehabiliteringssenter som ligger i Son i Vestby kommune. Dette for å ha en plass hvor man kan vise hvordan funn fra litteraturstudien og analyse kan benyttes, samt å kunne gi et eksempel på hvordan et uteområde ved et rehabiliteringssenter kan utformes. During the last years there has been an increase in the interest for the influence and the effect the physical environment can have on people’s health and wellbeing. This has resulted in the term health design, which can be seen as a branch within architecture. Rehabilitation can be mentioned as one field within health design. Rehabilitation has been chosen as focus area for the assignment because this is something that effects a lot of people and there is also an increase in people with the need of rehabilitation. The purpose of the assignment is to examine how the outdoor areas at rehabilitation centers should be planned. The problem formulation of the assignment is: How to create outdoor areas at rehabilitation centers that can be a therapeutic contribution in the treatment, and which both the staff and the patients feel ownernship to, which gives opportunities for training and recreation and at the same time is easy to maintain? The methods used to answer the problem formulation is literature study, analysis of examples of existing gardens and a case study. When it comes to the literature study relevant theories and literature for the assignment has been studied. In the analysis part four gardens/outdoor areas which is of importance for the assignment will be studied and discussed. Because there is not much literature directly related to the topic of this assignment other types of healthcare institutions will be studied to see what can be applied to outdoor areas at rehabilitation centers. The case study is Catosenteret which is a rehabilitation center located in Son in the municipality Vestby. This is done to have a place where it is possible to show how the findings from the literature study and analysis can be used, but also to give an example of how outdoor areas at a rehabilitation center can be planned.
