| dc.description.abstract | Bergen kommune er i gang med planlegging og utbygging av et framtidig bybanenett i kommunen. En søndre linje fra sentrum mot Nesttun åpner i juni 2010, og nye linjer vurderes nå mot nord og vest. I denne oppgaven er det lagt fram en plan for utvikling av lokalsenteret Sandvikstorget i Sandviken. Torget er ett av stedene hvor kommunen foreslår bybanestopp på en framtidig linje mellom sentrum og nordre bydeler. Området har et transformasjons- og fortettingspotensial, men innehar også store kulturhistoriske verdier. Samtidig tilbyr Sandvikstorget et begrenset utvalg muligheter for bydelens befolkning, enten det er snakk om vare- og tjenestetilbud, fritidsaktiviteter eller rekreasjonsmuligheter.
Hensikten med planen har vært å forene utvikling og bevaring i et kulturhistorisk miljø på en måte som støtter opp under etablering av bybane og styrker Sandvikstorget som lokalsenter for Sandviken. Planforslaget bygger på innledende analyser om stedets morfologiske utvikling, dets egenskaper og forutsetninger, i tillegg til en alternativsvurdering for innpassing av bybane gjennom planområdet. Planforslaget konkluderer med at området rundt Sandvikstorget har et potensial for 150 – 200 nye boliger, og 200 – 400 nye arbeidsplasser, forutsatt transformasjon av eksisterende næringsområder. I tillegg foreslås bybanen lagt i tunnel av hensyn til kulturmiljøet, og deler av nye byggeområder avsatt til rekreasjon, idrett og lokaler for vare- og tjenesteytende bedrifter. The city of Bergen is in a process of planning and developing a new light rail network in the municipality. A southern line from the city center to Nesttun is due to open in June 2010, and new lines are considered to the north and west. In this thesis a plan is presented for the development of the local center Sandvikstorget in Sandviken. Sandvikstorget is one of the places in which the local authority proposes a stop on a future line between the city center and northern suburbs. The area has a transformation and densification potential, but also holds great cultural and historical values. At the same time Sandvikstorget offers a limited range of opportunities for the borough’s population, whether it’s goods and services, leisure activities or recreational areas.
The purpose of the plan has been to reconcile development and conservation in a way that supports the creation of light rail, and strengthens Sandvikstorget as a local center for Sandviken. The proposal is based on preliminary analysis of the local morphological development, its characteristics and requirements, as well as an alternative assessment for the transfer of light rail through the area. The proposed plan concludes that the area around Sandvikstorget has a potential of 150 to 200 new housing units, and 200 to 400 new employees, provided the transformation of existing industrial areas. In addition, it is suggested that a tunnel is established for the light rail in interests of preserving the cultural environment, and that part of new construction areas is set aside for recreation, sport and facilities for goods and services businesses. | en_US |
