The purpose of this study is to show what effects Fretex Norway AS has got through the introduction and implementation of the production methodology Lean. Lean aims to create more profitable time by eliminating the inefficient non profitable time consume. One of Lean's main goals is to cover immediate demands, through high quality and least possible time consume/wasting (Slack, Chambers and Johnston 2010: 435). Our research question is: "What effects has Lean given Fretex after it was implemented?" To answer this question, we chose to break our question down into different sections, which all will be answered by this study. We chose to use quantitative methods to gives us an in depth range of answers, through questionnaires. The data we received was analyzed by the analytical tool SPSS. Out of the 101 questionnaires that were filled out, 90 of them fulfilled our standards to be included in this research. Our results show that the implementation of Lean to Fretex is in a early phase, and the knowledge of its advantages is still rather varied among the respondents. In addition, the study map out Lean's outreach and how far the different branches and regional divisions of Fretex has come in the process of fully implementing Lean. The branches production and warehouse/transport were the branches to have come furthest in this process, while the West-Norwegian division was the head branch. According to the respondents, their perception of the most important reason why Lean was implemented, was that it will be the most time effect way to work. When asked, they considered increased productivity to be the main goal and reason to why Lean was implemented in Fretex. Accordingly, this was the area every participant throughout every branch and division, thought was the most improved area. With this study we also wanted to unveil any challenges emerging after Lean was introduced. The survey showed that the biggest problems with the implementation has been cultural and communicational challenges. The survey shows, however, that the effects of implementing Lean does not yet fulfill Fretex' expectations of what this more efficient software could bring to the table. Out of the different expectations and goals, the increased employee satisfaction was the best score according to the goal settings. Even though the expectations and goals were generally higher than the effects, Fretex have still achieved positive results, since the respondents said that implementing Lean had improved the workplace in every aspect.no_NO
